Weekly Staples

I am super excited about the next couple weeks! I have a few fires going and they are all SO fun and exciting! If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen me mention that I’m putting together a 4 week meal plan because I have a trip coming up and I want to feel my best.  I’ll be in a bathing suit the majority of the trip, so yes, I need some dedication to quality foods going into my body!  Info on that should be out soon but first I’m helping with a new weight loss challenge group at the gym! That could be why some of you are here and if so WELCOME! So excited for yalls journey over the next few weeks and I am honored to help you guys! neonbrand-394688-unsplashAnyways, back to the reason for this post, my basic grocery/pantry must haves! These are items I keep on hand 24/7 so that I am able to stay on track!

  • Eggs-I’m too lazy to boil my own eggs so I buy raw and boiled and egg whites in the carton
  • Baby spinach-make a salad, add to eggs, put on a wrap, etc
  • Oatmeal–I like to keep the individual packets and old fashion on hand
  • Milk-mainly for my daughter but I might use it in recipes and sometimes I get almond milk for overnight oats
  • Wheat bread/tortillas/English muffins
  • Lunch meat-I really prefer freshly sliced from the deli, it’s so much better
  • Ultra thin Sargento cheese slices-so I can have a tiny bit of cheese without feeling guilty
  • Vanilla Oikos Triple Zero Yogurt
  • Frozen blueberries
  • Bananas
  • Apples
  • Carrots
  • Larabars-peanut butter chocolate chip are my fave, if you haven’t had them go ahead and order them NOW!
  • Wine-duh
  • Coffee-again, duh
  • Frozen chicken and steamable veggies so I always have a meal on hand!

Things my friends reminded me I need to add to my list

  • Pickles-random fact about me…one of my friends dad nicknamed me pickle in elementary school because I loved pickles so much!  The love isn’t quiet as strong these days so they somehow weren’t on my list! haha
  • Spark-ok if you don’t love spark you need to re-evaluate your life.  You probably have a friend you can buy some from but if you don’t you can click here and it will take you to my link.  I love spark so much that I was actually able to become an “advisor” a few years back just from buying my personal stock!  I’ve never made money from selling spark but hey, you can be my first sale if ya want!
  • Lemon and/or limes-for water, for drizzling over a salad or fish, for cocktails, whatever
  • PB2-put this in my yogurt this week and hello, life changing!

So those are the basics. I start making my grocery list by evaluating this inventory and then I add whatever I need for my weekly meal prep.  {If you are going to meal prep you are also going to need containers.  You can do glass (just got these and I’m loving them) or plastic (I started prepping with these)}  So that’s that.  I hope if you are trying to find a place to start your journey to a healthier lifestyle this helps.  What I’ve learned is that if I don’t have it, I can’t eat it.  I have to control what comes into my house because I’ll be the first to tell you I have very little self-control once something comes in.  Hints why I buy the box of wine, not a bottle! Ha!  And for me, I’m not giving up my wine.  Its a staple and it’s staying on the staple list.  I just try to only drink one glass once or twice M-F.  Balance you guys…find your balance.

*I have to mention something about balance.  It’s totally dependent on you.  Not me.  Not your best friend.  Not your neighbor.  Not this blog.  This blog is going to show MY balance.  So right now I’ve got some big goals.  I’ve lost my baby weight from my second child but I’m about 7 pounds from what I weighed prior to my first and about 15 pounds from my lowest/strongest weight I’ve ever been.  So my balance doesn’t have much give right now.  I’ve gotta find my balance in other places, not in food indulgences.  But for some of you, you’re at that goal.  Celebrate!  That means your balance is going to look VERY different from mine.  GOOD.  We are NOT here to compare ourselves to others, to compete with others, to out shine others or to condemn others.  If I ever start acting any of those ways, PLEASE call me out.  Let’s support each other, cheer each other on, and cheers each other in celebration of goals and achievements met!  If you ever need to share a glass of wine, a dessert, or a workout to celebrate the good in life, hit me up!  I’m game!
